EXTRUDER OPERATOR

Job Description

JOB FUNCTION:
Sets up and operates an extrusion press to shape hot billets into various products like bars, tubing, and structural shapes. Maintains a clean and safe work environment and wears all required personal protective safety equipment.

SHIFT:

• 1st Shift: Mon-Fri, 8am – 5pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install dies, mandrels, and other tools according to specifications using hand tools
• Remove billets from furnace when heated to a specified temperature, guide billets onto the press bed
• Start the press to shape billets, regulate extrusion rate to prevent ruptures, and maintain product quality
• Operate run-out table and trim flash as needed
• Record production data, such as crew time and items processed

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficient with extrusion machinery and hand tools
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to stand for full shifts and work overtime as required

Job Type: Full-time (Temp-to-Perm)
Salary: $13.00 to $14.00 per hour
