Job Description
JOB FUNCTION:
Sets up and operates an extrusion press to shape hot billets into various products like bars, tubing, and structural shapes. Maintains a clean and safe work environment and wears all required personal protective safety equipment.
SHIFT:
1st Shift: Mon-Fri, 8am – 5pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install dies, mandrels, and other tools according to specifications using hand tools
Remove billets from furnace when heated to a specified temperature, guide billets onto the press bed
Start the press to shape billets, regulate extrusion rate to prevent ruptures, and maintain product quality
Operate run-out table and trim flash as needed
Record production data, such as crew time and items processed
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Proficient with extrusion machinery and hand tools
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to stand for full shifts and work overtime as required
Job Type: Full-time (Temp-to-Perm)
Salary: $14.00 per hour
